Spooky Cocktails for Halloween

Wicked Witch Potion Cocktail

1/2 oz. absinthe
1 oz. Gin
1 oz. Lillet blanc (or dry vermouth)
1 oz. lemon juice
1 oz. orange liqueur

Put everything into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a glass and garnish with orange peel if desired.

Devil on My Shoulder Cocktail

Simple Syrup
½ cup water
½ cup sugar
3 basil leaves
Black peppercorns or coarse ground black pepper

Bring water to a simmer. Add sugar and stir to dissolve. Add basil leaves and peppercorns. Simmer on low for 10 minutes. Once it has cooled, strain it and set aside until used. (Can be covered and refrigerated for up to a week.)


Puree
1 lb. strawberries
Ice

Puree in a blender.


To Assemble
2 oz tequila
2 oz strawberry puree
1 oz basil black pepper simple syrup
Ice
Club soda
